The Story Behind Blend & Burn

Hi, I’m Anna, the founder of Blend & Burn — a candle brand brewed from my love of all things cosy, candles, and caffeine. I’m a self-confessed tea and coffee geek, and love getting nerdy about brewing techniques and unique blends.

I’ve always been someone who finds joy in the small rituals of everyday life — lighting a candle at the end of a long day, curling up with a book, or sipping a cuppa. For me, those moments are the ones that matter most. 

When I first started experimenting with candle-making, it was simply a hobby to calm my anxious thoughts and bring more comfort into my own home. I loved the soothing process of melting wax, blending fragrances, and discovering how something as simple as a scent could transform my mood. The whole process was as comforting to me as a warm cuppa. Then I realised something: while the world is full of candles, very few truly spoke to my love of tea and coffee — those soothing, grounding, energising aromas that feel like a hug in a cup. So why couldn’t I combine the two?

That’s how Blend & Burn was born. I wanted to create candles inspired by the drinks we reach for every day — a matcha pick-me-up, a rich espresso, or a zesty earl grey. Each scent is designed to feel familiar yet special. Each fragrance has been obsessively crafted to remind you of your favourite brew.

Blend & Burn is more than just candles — it’s about celebrating life’s simple pleasures. Like finding joy in a slow morning with a coffee-scented candle flickering nearby, or unwinding in the evening with a tea-inspired scent that helps you completely switch off.

As a small business, I pour my heart and soul into every candle — from carefully sourcing materials to hand-pouring in small batches. Each candle has its own little story, inspired by the nation’s favourite cuppas.
