The Best Cosy Candles for Autumn (Tea & Coffee Scents to Light This Season)
The nights are drawing in, the big jumpers are out of the wardrobe, and there’s a chill in the air that makes a warm mug feel like a hug. Yep, it’s officially candle season.
Autumn is my favourite time of year (I say that every year, and I mean it every time). There’s something about swapping iced coffees for spiced lattes and pulling the blanket off the back of the sofa that makes me want a candle lit in every room. And if you’re a tea or coffee lover like me, the cosiest autumn candles are the ones that smell like the drink in your hands.
So here are the six scents I reach for every autumn, whether you’re a pumpkin spice devotee or a chai-and-a-good-book kind of person.
🎃 Pumpkin Spiced Latte: the iconic scent of autumn

Let’s start with the obvious one, because it wouldn’t be autumn without it. Our Pumpkin Spiced Latte candle blends creamy pumpkin and brown sugar with cinnamon, clove and a hint of anise, topped with a whisper of whipped cream. It smells exactly like that first seasonal coffee order of the year, the one you’ve been secretly waiting for since August.
👉 Best for: pumpkin spice fans, the first cold morning of the season, autumn baking days
🍎 Spiced Apple Chai: fruity, spicy and a little bit smoky

Our limited edition autumn scent, and it only sticks around for the season. Spiced Apple Chai wraps you up like your favourite knit jumper: mulled apple swirling with cinnamon, nutmeg and clove, softened with creamy vanilla and a hint of smoke and musk. Think crisp orchard walks and cosying up by the fire afterwards. If you love it, don’t wait too long!
👉 Best for: crisp autumn walks (and the cosy bit after), spice lovers, bonfire night
🍁 Maple Pecan Frappé: sweet, nutty and dessert-worthy

If your idea of autumn is a slice of pecan pie, this one’s for you. Maple Pecan Frappé fills your space with candied pecans and rich maple syrup, blended with coffee, milk and a touch of cocoa, then finished with caramelised vanilla. It’s sweet without being sickly, and makes the whole house smell like a café bakery counter.
👉 Best for: weekend brunches, home baking, anyone with a sweet tooth
🍮 Toasted Caramel Latte: sweet, smoky and barista-worthy

Our newest coffee scent, and I think it might be the cosiest of the lot. Toasted Caramel Latte is sweet coffee topped with fluffy toasted marshmallow and a generous drizzle of caramel, with walnut cream and warm waffles underneath and a soft wisp of smoke. It’s your favourite café order, minus the queue (and minus the walk in the rain to get it).
👉 Best for: rainy Sunday afternoons, film nights, café vibes at home
🫖 Chai Latte: warm, spiced and comforting

For my fellow tea lovers, this is autumn in a jar. Our Chai Latte candle is a frothy cup of chai: cinnamon, cardamom, clove and ginger over dried black tea and warm milk, finished with soft vanilla and a little sugar. Gently spiced, never overpowering, and the perfect companion for a big mug and a bigger book.
👉 Best for: work-from-home days, reading nooks, cosy weekends
🌰 Hazelnut Latte: creamy, nutty and indulgent

Customers tell me they’ve never smelt anything quite like our Hazelnut Latte, and it’s the one I’d hoard if I had to pick. Roasted hazelnut and milk melt into chocolate and praline, with a base of vanilla, caramel and cocoa. It’s rich, nutty and just the right amount of sweet, like a hug on a dark evening.
👉 Best for: cosy nights in, Netflix binges, sweet coffee lovers

Why Autumn Is Candle Season
Autumn is when we start spending more time at home: darker evenings, colder mornings, more reasons to stay in. Lighting a candle is one of the simplest ways to make that feel intentional rather than something to get through. It’s a little signal that says slow down, you’re home now.
Every one of our autumn candles is hand-poured in small batches here in Norfolk, using 100% natural soy wax and non-toxic fragrance oils, with a lead-free cotton wick and around 40 hours of burn time. (If you want to make those hours go further, I’ve shared my tips on how to make your candle last longer.)
So grab your blanket, put the kettle on, and light something that smells like your favourite autumn drink. You’ll find all six scents together in The Autumn Collection.
Happy cosy season! 🍂
