The Best Christmas Scented Candles (Festive Tea & Coffee Scents to Light This Winter)
The fairy lights are going up, the festive playlists are back on, and the coffee shop menus have swapped pumpkin spice for peppermint. Yep, it’s officially Christmas candle season.
I think Christmas might be the season candles were made for. Dark afternoons, frosty mornings, wrapping paper all over the living room floor and a hot drink never far from reach. And if you’re a tea or coffee lover like me, the best Christmas scented candles are the ones that smell like your favourite festive drink.
So here are the four scents I’ll be lighting all December, from a gingerbread latte to a proper chocolate orange hot chocolate. (Three of them only come out for Christmas, so they won’t be around for long!)
🍪 Gingerbread Latte: the ultimate gingerbread candle

If there’s one smell that says “Christmas is coming”, it’s gingerbread in the oven. Our Gingerbread Latte candle wraps your home in fresh-baked gingerbread and frothy vanilla coffee: anise and butter up top, homemade gingerbread and cinnamon in the middle, and a base of maple syrup, caramel and vanilla. Warm, spiced and wonderfully nostalgic, it’s festive indulgence in a jar.
👉 Best for: festive baking, cosy winter evenings, Christmas traditions
🍬 Peppermint Mocha: candy cane magic

This is the one I was busy testing this time last year, and I’m so excited to have it back. Peppermint Mocha captures your favourite festive drink: creamy hot chocolate, sweet peppermint and mountains of whipped cream, with melted marshmallow and a finish of candy cane. It’s cool, smooth and just the right amount of sweet. Equal parts comfort and candy cane magic.
👉 Best for: festive movie nights, winter gatherings, Christmas gifting
🍊 Mulled Winter Chai: fruity, spiced and warming

New to the Christmas Collection this year, and one for my fellow chai lovers. Mulled Winter Chai bottles that Christmas feeling of mulled fruit simmering away on the hob: bright orange zest steeped with festive spices and grounded by earthy patchouli. It’s winter comfort by a crackling fire, and it’s made for a cosy night in with the Harry Potter films on.
👉 Best for: chai lovers, festive gatherings, Harry Potter rewatches
🍫 Orange Hot Chocolate: a chocolate orange in a jar

Is it even Christmas without a chocolate orange in your stocking? Our Orange Hot Chocolate candle blends creamy milk chocolate and cocoa with bright, zesty sweet orange, over a base of warm milk, vanilla and brown sugar. It’s the ultimate hot chocolate candle, pure treat yourself energy, and it’s here all year round, so you don’t have to wait for December to enjoy it.
👉 Best for: chocolate lovers, cosy nights in, stocking fillers
How to Choose Your Christmas Candle
Not sure which one is for you (or for them)? Here’s my quick cheat sheet:
- Love anything baked? Go for Gingerbread Latte.
- Sweet tooth with a minty twist? Peppermint Mocha is your candy cane fix.
- Team tea? Mulled Winter Chai is Christmas in a teacup.
- Chocoholic? Orange Hot Chocolate, obviously.
- Can’t pick just one? Light one in every room. I won’t judge. 🎄
Christmas Candle Gifts for Tea and Coffee Lovers
Candles are one of my favourite things to give (and, let’s be honest, to receive). They’re thoughtful, they feel a little bit luxurious, and they get used rather than tucked away in a drawer.
Any of these four scents makes a lovely Christmas candle gift for the tea or coffee lover in your life, or a Secret Santa that’s actually worth getting. If you’d like to give a few together, our Discovery Sets bring three candles together for £65, a 10% saving. And if you really can’t decide, a Blend & Burn e-gift card arrives by email instantly and lets them choose for themselves. Perfect for last-minute shoppers (no judgement, I’m one too).
Why Christmas Is the Season for Candles
December can be a lot: the parties, the present lists, the “are we doing the in-laws on Boxing Day?” conversations. Lighting a candle is one of the simplest ways to carve out a little calm in the middle of it all. It’s my signal to put the to-do list down, pour a hot drink and just enjoy the season for a minute.
Every one of our Christmas candles is hand-poured in small batches here in Norfolk, using 100% natural soy wax and non-toxic fragrance oils, with a lead-free cotton wick and around 40 hours of burn time. They’re vegan, cruelty-free and plastic-free too, right down to the amber glass jar and gold lid. (If you want to make those 40 hours stretch all the way to New Year, here’s how to make your candle last longer.)
So put the kettle on, find the fluffy socks, and light something that smells like your favourite festive drink. You’ll find all four scents together in The Christmas Collection.
